With a final spray of Aqua Net, you crimp your bangs one last time and fluff the rest of your perfectly teased sideways ponytail that's held in place by your favorite neon scrunchie (which, of course, matches your brand new leg warmers and jelly shoes). After a finishing coat of blue mascara and swipe of hot pink lipstick, you slip on your fringed jean jacket, give yourself one final look in the mirror and decide you are ready to roll. Watch out world. You, my friend, are lookin' goooood.

Or, maybe you were one of those too cool guys with the effortlessly chic Flock of Seagulls haircut who laughed at all the girls around you who looked so ridiculously un-rad, all the while sporting your popped collar polo shirt and finest pegged jeans with your Reebok high tops.

Dust off the never fail duds of your past that you would now never be caught dead wearing. What were some of your "best" clothes of the decades past that now make you shake your head in shame?

Let me just say that I cringe with disgust when I see pics of me from Junior High. Tight-rolled jeans, HUGE hair, Blue and pink eye shadow (one color on each eye), New Kids On The Block concert shirts, Neon colored clothes, leggings...need I go on? I can't stand the clothing from the 80's. And now that stuff is coming back...it's really scary, gives me nasty flashbacks. lol.

Oh, good lord, you name it and I probably had it. Except for jelly shoes. Never had those. I'll just start rattling them off...

* Tight-rolled jeans with two pairs of socks that coordinated with my outfit.

* The double-polo thing with both collars up.

* A Coca-Cola jean jacket with pins galore - mostly cartoon characters.

* The v-neck Forenza sweater worn backwards with a racer-back tank top underneath look.

* Keds with no shoelaces.

* Eastland shoes with the laces rolled into barrels (with the aforementioned double sock action going on).

* Reebok high tops - with the double velcro straps.

* Arms FULL of jelly bracelets.

* Friendship pins (most of which were probably from Jenn - LOL).

* Acid washed jeans (tight-rolled, of course).

* The spiral perm with poofy bangs look. Oh, and don't forget the blow-dried hairsprayed-out wings on the side.

* JENN!! Remember our matching Hammer pants??? What were they? I can't remember the name of them now... Oh, those were awful. Purple/green/black striped nastiness.

* Three Swatches all on the same arm. With Swatch guards.

* Z Cavarici jeans. 'Nuff said.

I still like to dress 80's when I can. I guess I never let go!

1. Blue hammer pants with a matching vest. I was really into the vests and wore them all the time.

2. Pink jeans. And I mean pink. (But I wore these in high school, and I graduated in 1995)

3. One summer I had the perm/Sun-in combo. It was the first time I went blonde (and I have never gone back), but it was a BAD blonde. Then the perm went flat, so I tried to make it work with the crimper.

4. Best friend necklaces and Tretorn shoes that matched every single outfit.

5. The plastic charm necklaces that you added a million charms to!

6. The off the shoulder huge baggy sweater with leggings. There are just some things that chubby girls should not wear!

7. All of my rocker t-shirts. NKOTB, AC/DC, GUNS and ROSES. Believe it or not they are now dustrags at my Mom's house.

I was truly a child of the 80s, so my mom played a big role in some of my fashion. Between the two of us, we managed to deck me out in some fancy looks :)

* Jellies in every imaginable color, most featuring built in glitter

* Skirts with lace trim at the bottom and leggings underneath

* Stonewashed jeans with neon paint splashes on them (I *LOVED* those things)

* STIRRUP PANTS (I wore nothing but stirrups or leggings my entire 5th grade year - no joke)

* Long shirts with those weird clip things that cinched up one side really tightly on the bottom

* Tight rolled jeans a la T Pea's style

How in the WORLD could I forget stirrup pants? Those topped off the look of the backwards sweater/tank top combo. Of course, the socks matched the tank top.

My mom was huge in my fashion world, too. (Not sure if I should thank her or not...??) She's a pretty trendy gal, which is probably about the only thing that kept me from being the honor student who got beat up.

I was torn between two crowds, two distinct social clicks. One being the group everyone hated, the "bad boys", the rockers... And the other the crowd that the "bad boys" themselves in fact despised, the "preps." This often led to a wardrobe combination that was completely disastrous. For example...

You should never tuck in an AC/DC shirt, not cool.

You should never wear loafers with an Appetite for Destruction tour T.

And you should never ever peg your jeans when they have huge Def Leppard style tears in the knees.

---Parachute pants!!!!!!!!!!!

---Leg warmers

---Spandex under everything

---Barrettes with ribbons and beads

---Guess overalls with one side down

---Do you remembering that having your sweaters monogrammed was WAY COOL!?!??

Tara, I vaguely remember the hammer pants, and I'm sure it's because I have blocked them out of my memory!

FUN TIMES!!!!!

I freaking loved the 80's. Everything you all said has brought back so many memories! I loved my I.O.U. sweater cardigan and my big wide belts... and the giant earrings in pink, orange, etc... And BLUE EYESHADOW!!!

Let's have an 80's party!!! Wouldn't that be fun??

My best 80's look had to have been an outfit I got in Las Vegas on vacation with my parents. It was a white t-shirt and white pants that had every neon color splashed on them. I tied the shirt at the side and wore neon pink socks with silver flats. I also had a neon swatch watch that matched perfect. Oh yeaaaa!

T pea I really don't remember the charm necklace thingy ma bobber.
