Sorry, sorry... we've been slacking here at Two Peas. Sickness, busy-ness, just plain blah-ness. Since I received my first piece of hate mail yesterday (thanks for the reminder, sunshinesams!), I figured it was time to get off my bum and come up with a question. A Pea has been very patient with me, and for that, I am grateful. :)
We know we have lots of lurkers out there, so I'm dragging you out of lurkdom today! This is a question in which everyone can participate! If you read the blog, you must answer!
Since the creative juices are not flowing today, I'll launch right into it:
What is on your Christmas list this year? (This is realistic now... tomorrow, we'll think bigger!)

We need a little Christmas!

43 books.
And, some new clothes for work, since my wardrobe is older than our children.
And my perennial item: a bottle of Irish whiskey.
Sweaters
Extra cell phone and iPod chargers to keep at work
Running watch
Perfume
Comforter
Electric throw blanket
DVDs
Games
I'm notorious for boring Christmas lists...
Nice silverware (I picked a pattern and everything!)
Make-up
Perfume
Clothes, although they're probably the last thing I need :)
That's about all. I'll of course get more, but it won't be anything I've specifically requested. My mom is just a great shopper!
An engagement ring. Oh wait, you said realistic items. I'm sure my boyfriend isn't going to propose this year.
So, realistic items are as follows:
Perfume
iPod (I know, I'm probably the only one who doesn't own one)
clothes
kitchen items (I've turned into a Domestic Goddess lately)
a pea, you're notorious for boring lists too? A couple of years ago, I asked for new tires for Christmas (mind you, I am not a "car person", so I didn't have some fancy-schmancy tires in mind -- I just needed some of those round rubber things I've seen on my car that make it possible to get from Point A to Point B). My car really needed new ones, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Little did I realize that t pea would never let me live this down -- reading my wish list that year was the most boring moment of our marriage for her.
Andrew - first of all, I am with you on the new tires. Last year I asked for a crock-pot. My wedding gift was a vaccuum and I was so excited I cried. Practicality people!!!
A "knitting starter kit" - the how to books and needles and everything. I really want to learn how. I am hoping it will keep me from going back to smoking/eating after this baby is born!
Funky cheap costume earrings - cuz you can never have too many!
Roller skates - I want to be a Roller Derby Queen (round and round, go round and round!)
Oh good one. I love Andy's reply about the clothes older then the kids..........what's wrong with that? LOL.
I'm wishing for............
1. A child support check that doesn't bounce.
2. A pair of jeans that doesn't make my tummy muffin fold over the top.
3. A Starbucks gift card :)
Well, what I asked for:
Money to put towards a new laptop
Clothes
A new purse
Pajamas (this is my "fun" item--I am a pajamaholic.)
I'm not the only boring list maker out there! Yes! However, that also applies to the excitement that normal, mundane things cause in me. Example? My Ove Glove. I would not live w/o it. My mom bought it for me as a joke, and I was THRILLED. I now have two of them... can't have one hand w/o the other :)
Hmm, that just may inspire an upcoming QOD. Be thinking about your most memorable gifts... more to come!
1- Couple of books
2- The Office (DVDs)
3- Michael Bolton's Greatest Hits
4- Time
5- Love
6- and Tenderness
